All you need to know about packaging machinery for medium and large products with stretch film

This type of film is used by cold packaging machines, i.e. those that do not need to apply heat by means of shrink tunnels to ensure that the packaging becomes a second skin for the product, insulating it from the outside environment.
Cold packaging is widely used in cases where the products to be packaged have geometric and regular shapes, as the stretch film can easily adapt perfectly to their contours.
The models of the different series of CMB cold packaging machines use stretch film, but it is not the only material used. Depending on the machine model and the layers of protection that can be added to the product, stretch film can also be combined with normal film, bubble film, cardboard foil or kraft paper.
Is the use of stretch film in the packaging of medium and large products compatible with sustainability ?

The ERL Series consists of rotary wraparound packaging machines that use recyclable polyethylene stretch film and are specially designed for packaging products of different dimensions and shapes. Thanks to their innovative automatic packaging technology, the ERL Series machines allow maximum output to be achieved at minimum added cost.
The COOLPACK Series offers machines with a higher degree of protection compared to the ERL Series machines, thanks to the combination of two recyclable polyethylene film materials: bubble film and stretch film.
It allows double insulation of the products without compromising on the grip. It is undoubtedly one of CMB’s most successful packaging machines.
Finally, the SUPER P Series provides “super protection”, as it allows any object to be packaged with all types of materials, such as stretch film, corrugated sheets and bubble film.
It is designed to allow overlapping layers of different materials, depending on the product to be packaged, offering the highest level of protection.
