We understand the importance of making responsible use of the resources available to us and for CMB, using fully recyclable packaging materials was not just an option, it was a necessity.

For this reason, 100% of our medium and large product packaging machines use both fully recyclable and already recycled materials in order to minimise the impact on our carbon footprint.

In the case of our heated packaging systems, they use heat-shrinkable stretch film made from recyclable polyethylene. In the case of cold packaging systems, recyclable stretch film also made from recyclable polyethylene.

In both cases, if an extra layer of protection is required, CMB machines are designed to use bubble film or cell-air (polyethylene foam), both made from the same polyethylene material and also fully recyclable.

As we have already mentioned, there are three options for cold packaging with recyclable stretch film in our catalogue. Below, we are going to detail the most outstanding features of each of the machines so that you can choose the one that best suits your real needs. 

However, before we go into this in more detail, we would like to point out that all CMB cold-packing machines have a common denominator in their low energy consumption.

It goes without saying that these machines are connected to an electrical energy source and in the case of the cold packers, the energy consumption is much lower than those that use heat to finish the packaged products.

We also consider it relevant to mention that cold packaging systems are usually recommended in those cases in which medium and large products with regular or more or less geometric shapes are to be packed.

The ERL or rotary wraparound packer was designed with a view to increasing productivity and reducing costs. Thanks to its large diameter slewing ring, it offers the possibility to pack furniture of all sizes, doors, windows, stacked sheets, profiles, mouldings, shutters and even pipes.

The products to be packed are placed on the infeed table of the machine and when they pass through the slewing ring, they are packed in a process similar to bandaging, with recyclable stretch film made of polyethylene. With the ERL you get quality packaging at a great price and with minimal energy consumption. In addition, you do not have to adapt the film reel to the size of the product.

We could say that the COOLPACK is a bit like the jewel in CMB’s crown, as it is one of the most requested packaging machines by our customers. The COOLPACK series offers packaging solutions with recyclable stretch film in combination with polyethylene bubble film to ensure extra protection.

The COOLPACK packaging process consists of two phases. In the first phase, the product is created in a kind of bag with bubble film, leaving the sides of the bag open. This film is perfect to protect it from possible knocks or scratches.

In the second phase, this bubble film bag is subjected to a bandage packaging with recyclable stretch film passing through a rotating crown, so that the inner content is secured and completely isolated from the outside, as the sides that had previously been left open are also closed.

The Super P is a module that can be incorporated into other machines, such as the COOLPACK, and is used to add an extra layer of protection. It is used in cases where the product needs to be completely wrapped and given extra protection, including the front and rear parts, or where the package obtained needs to be completely closed.

This extra layer of protection offered by the Super P (super protection) module can be cardboard foil or cell-air film, among other materials.
