What kind of palletising and packaging film do CMB packaging machines use?
All the packaging materials used by CMB machinery for packaging are recyclable, but depending on whether it is a cold packaging or heated system, some materials are used or others.
The packaging systems with the application of heat are based on transporting the product to be packaged through a shrink tunnel that applies heat to the film, thus creating a second skin on top of the product. If a suitable polyethylene film, capable of withstanding the heat, is not used, the result can be disastrous.

The cold packaging solutions that CMB offers its customers are characterised by the use of a stretch polyethylene film. This film is placed around the product of medium or large dimensions thanks to a rotating crown that wraps it completely around the product and bandages it.
In cases where the products to be packed or palletised require an extra layer of protection, polyethylene bubble film is added. This film guarantees that the packaged product is protected from possible knocks during transport or storage.
A layer of polyethylene stretch film is added on top of the bubble film to hold it in place. The combination of these two types of film is what makes the COOLPACK machine, CMB’s most successful cold packaging system on the market.
If these two layers of film are still not enough to protect medium and large products properly, CMB has developed a module that offers extra protection: the Super P. This module allows you to superimpose a third layer of protection, leaving all parts of the packaged product even more protected.
CMB’s heat-applied packaging machinery uses polyethylene shrink film
The main attribute of polyethylene shrink film is its ability to shrink when heat is applied to it. Because of this, when a product that has been shrink wrapped with this shrink packaging film passes through a shrink tunnel, the product is wrapped like a second skin.
This feature makes it possible to achieve packaging that guarantees good product visualisation and a polished appearance. In addition, CMB’s heated packaging machinery guarantees a high output at a very competitive cost.
